Get Limbo Free on Steam

Playdead’s critically acclaimed Limbo is free on Steam today until June 22nd, when it returns to its normal price of $9.99. Last week, Limbo was also released for free on Xbox One during Microsoft’s E3 briefing in Los Angeles. This is on the hype for the developer’s new mysterious game, Inside, available on Xbox One on 29th, and then on PC on July 7th. Limbo is a very dark, yet charming 2D puzzle-platformer about a boy escaping through the “edge of Hell” forest to find his sister.

Tapioca – Punimelt and Slime Girls Collaborate on Sentimental Animated Short

Toronto based artist Punimelt combines elements of inspiration, girl power, and teenage daydreams in her animated short TAPIOCA. Her heartwarming and surreal animation combined with dreamy and uplifting music from Slime Girls (Pedro Silva) makes watching Tapioca something like floating in a bubblegum cloud somewhere deep in the mind of a virtual pet.

Tapioca from Michy Soong on Vimeo.

Punimelt’s shop and portfolio are filled with soft and whimsical treasures that you can check out HERE! If you want to see her designs irl, you can catch her at Anime Expo  – Los Angeles Convention Center, Otakon – Baltimore, Maryland, and Otakuthon – Montreal.

Celebrate Post-Donut Day with Cute Pics from Donut County

Got the post donut-day blues? Don’t be sad, here’s some cute art from Donut County!

falling

Ben Esposito, (AKA TorahHorse)’s, Donut County is a super cutesy physics game about exploring negative space with holes! Think of Katamari, except instead of starting as a small ball that gradually rolls everything up into a giant ball to shoot out into the solar system because your dad likes to destroy universes, you’re a hole that grows as you explore and solve puzzles in the game while sucking everything that you’re large enough to absorb into your bottomless void.

Featured and highly praised at independent gaming events and festivals for excellence in visual art and experimental gameplay, Ben Esposito’s creation is one of many visual/audio projects, one of those recent projects being Anamanaguchi’s Capsule Silence XXIV.

You can check out more of Ben Esposito’s projects HERE!

Claycat’s DOOM/DOOM: My Pet Cacodemon

Lee Hardcastle collaborates with Bethesda and id Software on this bloody gore filled, but funny clay animation of Doom with the Claycat character. There are tons of nostalgic moments from the original game as Claycat blasts his enemies to the intense metal soundtrack from the new reboot, including stages, weapons, and those damn demons!

I love how the Claycat’s facial expression is similar to Doomguy’s, and his cute voice says”mew mew” many times in the video.

The other animation Lee worked on is an odd, 30 second clip of Doomguy feeding a pet Cacodemon and riding through Mars on the beast. Any 90’s young adult who installed the classic on every Windows 95 PC and spent hours on it will truly get a kick out of it.

Tonight is the last night to vote for your favorite Geekie Award nominees! After tonight voting comes to an end, make them count!!

I’d recommend checking out director/VFX artist Michael Dahlquist (AKA Mike Diva)’s music video for Savant’s “Kali 47”! Watching the video is something like teleporting your brain into a futuristic cybernetic DLC for Red Dead Redemption, with extra sick costuming and special effects.

Find out who the winners are on 10/15/15!
