Sonic The Hedgehog 25th Anniversary Humble Bundle Deals

Humble Sonic 25th Anniversary Bundle

In less than 24 hours, the Sonic The Hedgehog franchise will turn 25. The Blue Blur has made a huge impact in its debut game on Sega Genesis, which lead to the 90s Console War with Mario and the Super Nintendo. The early games did extremely well in 2D, but when Sonic evolved into 3D the series turned into a roller coaster for both critics and fans. From the fan favorite Adventure games, to the god awful Sonic 06’, to the nostalgia and return the series’ roots, Sonic Generations, and… Sonic Boom. To be fair, the Sonic Boom cartoon is pretty funny.

With no announcements of a new Sonic console game yet, and the 25th Anniversary fan event being held next month in San Diego, what better way to celebrate than Humble Bundle letting you pay great deals on Sonic games across “generations”? *wink wink*

The first batch for $1 or more gets you the first Sonic game, Sonic Adventure DX, Sonic 3D Blast, and Sonic CD. Not bad for games under $10 and a great start for newcomers to the franchise. Then if you pay on the average of $9.57, you get Sonic 4: Episode 1, Sonic 2 (best game of all time), Sonic & Sega All Stars Racing, Sonic Adventure 2 with Battle DLC, and more games TBA. Pay $10 or more will unlock Sonic Lost World, Sonic Generations with Casino Night DLC, Sonic 4: Episode 2, and Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed with Metal Sonic & Outrun and Ryo Hazuki DLC. But wait, there’s more! There is an nice exclusive Sonic 25th Unisex T-Shirt made by Fangamer if drop more than $35 into Humble Bundle pack.

Honestly, this is a great bargain that I would definitely not miss. Most of my favorite Sonic titles in the series are in this pack and I will buy it without second guessing. Adding the DLCs is also a win in my books, and with the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive Classic hub on Steam, you can create and play mods of the older Sonic games.

Get Limbo Free on Steam

Playdead’s critically acclaimed Limbo is free on Steam today until June 22nd, when it returns to its normal price of $9.99. Last week, Limbo was also released for free on Xbox One during Microsoft’s E3 briefing in Los Angeles. This is on the hype for the developer’s new mysterious game, Inside, available on Xbox One on 29th, and then on PC on July 7th. Limbo is a very dark, yet charming 2D puzzle-platformer about a boy escaping through the “edge of Hell” forest to find his sister.

Hyper Light Drifter Collector’s Edition Available Through iam8bit

The eclectically electric 2D action RPG from Heart Machine is now available as a snazzy collector’s edition through the video-game centric art gallery/store, iam8bit, and what better way to capture that nostalgic, late 20th century retro video-game feel than including a SNES cartridge?

Don’t worry, you’re not going to have to dig up your SNES to play it, it’s not functional, it’s just a pretty piece of art, but that’s why the set also comes with a game code for Steam, PS4, or Xbox One, along with other goodies like a SNES style replica box, 24-page game manual, and 24×18 inch world map poster.
